NORMAN – After two weeks on the road, the Oklahoma women’s tennis team is home to host Arizona State Saturday at 10 a.m. CT.

Last Time Out

The Sooners (4-1) handed Arkansas its first loss of the season in statement fashion in their last contest, sweeping the Razorbacks 4-0 in Fayetteville. OU picked up the doubles point before Camila Romero, Martina Capurro and Oleksandra Korashvili grabbed singles wins at the top three spots to put the match away.

Romero struck first when she downed Lauren Alter 6-1, 6-3 on court three. The Sooner never trailed in the match.

At the top spot, Capurro snapped Martina Zerulo’s six-match winning streak with a 7-5, 6-1 win to give OU a 3-0 advantage in the match. Korashvili clinched for the Sooners at the No. 2 slot with a 6-3, 7-6 (0) win.

Sooners in the Rankings

Korashvili entered the ITA singles rankings at No. 60 in the organization’s first release of the season. The junior currently holds a three-match winning streak at the No. 2 line.

Capurro and Romero check in at No. 51. The duo has combined for three victories on the year, playing primarily on court two.

Dominating Doubles

OU has yet to give up a doubles point through five matches this season and have one all but one contest when opening with the point.

Korashvili and freshman Kianah Motosono remain undefeated (4-0) on court three and have clinched the Sooners’ last three doubles points.
