Sooners Set to Open Fall Season in Alabama

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men’s tennis team is set to open the fall season Friday at the Crimson Tide Four-in-the-Fall, hosted by the University of Alabama.

The tournament features two singles draws and two doubles draws, with two rounds of singles and one round of doubles played each day. The competition includes players from Tulane, Rice, Princeton, Memphis, Tennessee, Tulane, Miami and host school Alabama.

Sooners Jochen Bertsch, Stefano Tsorotiotis, Max Stewart and Mason Beiler will represent OU in the tournament. Freshman Beiler is set for his Oklahoma debut, and Stewart opens his first fall season with the Sooners after joining the roster in January.

Beiler and Bertsch will compete in the Crimson singles draw, while Stewart and Tsorotiotis are set for the Houndstooth bracket. In doubles,Bertsch and Stewart will team up in the Crimson flight, and Beiler and Tsorotiotis will take on the Houndstooth flight.

The Sooners saw early success at the Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall in 2017, with Jake Van Emburgh and Ferran Calvo capturing the singles titles in their respective flights.

The tournament set to begin Friday at 9 a.m. CT with doubles action, followed by singles play beginning at 10 a.m. CT. A livestream will be available for select courts.
