OU Wins in Stillwater, Clinches Bedlam Series

STILLWATER, Okla. – The No. 3/3 Oklahoma softball team outlasted RV/No. 22 Oklahoma State with a 3-2 win on Friday night at Cowgirl Stadium to clinch the Bedlam series. 

The Sooners (46-3 overall) remained undefeated in conference play, moving to 17-0, while clinching their 19th straight win over the Cowgirls (36-18, 12-5 Big 12). Additionally, OU has won 24 consecutive conference contests. 

Paige Lowary moved to 7-1 on the season, tossing a season-high 4.2 innings in relief. She allowed no runs or walks and four hits while fanning five batters, her highest strikeout total of the year. 

Offensively, the Sooners were led by Raegan Rogers, Sydney Romero and Lea Wodach, who were all 1-for-3 with an RBI. Rogers, Wodach and Nicole Pendley all scored a run, and Caleigh Clifton had a multi-hit game with a 2-for-4 performance. 

The Cowgirls opened scoring in the bottom of the second. With runners on the corners, Sydney Pennington singled to left to drive in Vanessa Shippy.

OU took the lead in the top of the second. Rogers doubled to right center to drive in Pendley from second to tie the contest.

Lea Wodach also split the gap in right center to bring Rogers home, and Sydney Romero singled through the right-field side to plate Wodach.

Oklahoma State cut into the Sooners’ lead with another RBI single from Pennington in the fourth.

The Bedlam series finale is set for Saturday in Norman with a 7:30 p.m. CT first pitch. The game will be aired on ESPN and can be heard via KEBC 1560 AM or online through the Franchise 2.
