NORMAN – Lucky number seven.

No. 3/3 Oklahoma softball clinched its seventh consecutive Big 12 regular season title on Wednesday night with an 8-0 run-rule victory over RV/No. 22 Oklahoma State in five innings at Marita Hynes Field.

Prior to this current run, no other team in league history had more than two titles in a row.

It's the 11th Big 12 regular season title in program history and 16th overall when including five Big 12 tournament championships. No other Big 12 team has more than eight combined titles. Wednesday night's victory also clinched the No. 1 seed for OU in the Big 12 Championship starting on May 11.

Senior Paige Parker recorded her first no-hitter of the season on Wednesday. After the first batter of the game drew a walk, Parker sat down the next 15 batters in order.

Overall, Parker has pitched six complete-game no hitters for her career. She also combined with Kelsey Stevens on May 15, 2015, against Central Arkansas. It is the 50th no-hitter in program history.

Three Sooners homered in the contest in Nicole Pendley, Eliyah Flores and Shay Knighten, lifting Oklahoma to its 18th run-rule win of the season.

Oklahoma (45-3, 16-0 Big 12) has now won 18 straight games against Oklahoma State (36-17, 12-4 Big 12). The win kept the Sooners perfect in Big 12 play and extended their program-best conference start to 16-0. They have also won 23 straight regular-season conference games.

The Sooners opened scoring with four runs in the second inning. Pendley led off the frame with a home run to center field, her 11th blast of the season.

After Lea Wodach drew a walk, Flores hit the first home run of her career, a two-run shot to left that extended OU’s lead to 3-0.

With runners on first and second, Jocelyn Alo singled to right field to drive in Sydney Romero.

OU moved into run-rule territory with a four-run fourth. Flores scored on an error to put the Sooners up by five.

Shay Knighten later stepped to the plate with runners on the corners and drilled a home run to left center.

The Sooners and Cowgirls continue their series on Friday in Stillwater. Bedlam game two is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. CT first pitch and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Oklahoma.
