NORMAN – The Oklahoma women’s tennis team travels to Orlando to face No. 40 NC State in a neutral site matchup held at the USTA National Campus on Friday at 11 a.m. CT.
The Sooners enter Friday’s matchup at 5-5 on the year. In its last contest, OU suffered its first loss in five matches when it fell to in-state rival Tulsa, 6-1, on the road.
Lily Miyazaki leads the Sooners form the No.1 line at 5-3 on the season. The senior checks in at No. 31 in the latest ITA release.
Fellow senior Christie Brigante is 5-3 on courts two and three and is riding a five-match winning streak. Malene Stripp has compiled a 5-2 record on courts five and six.
In doubles play, Brigante and freshman Jasmine Asghar are 4-1 from the No. 1 line, and Simran Sethi and Camila Romero own a 3-1 record on courts two and three.
No. 40 NC State owns a 7-7 mark on the year, with a 1-2 record in ACC play. In its last match, the Wolfpack made quick work of Boston College, winning 6-1.
Anna Rogers guides NC State from top spot in singles with a 9-4 slate. Rogers is No. 51 in the latest ITA rankings and is 2-4 against ranked opponents this season. At No. 2, Adriana Reami owns an 8-3 record.
In doubles, Rogers and Claudia Wiktorin clock in at No. 13 nationally with a 7-2 record on court one. The pair has won its last three consecutive matches.
The Sooners have only met NC State once in program history, with OU emerging victorious in that contest during the 1993 season.
