James Davis, a native of Barnstaple, England, joined the Sooners in August following a highly decorated junior career.

The former No. 1 U16 player in England and British U16 and U18 national champion, Davis often played against his now-teammate Max Stewart as a junior. Davis was the youngest-ever runner-up of a British men's tour event at 15 years old and recorded a runner-up finish in singles at the 2015 Nike Junior International Edinburg, as well as making two main draw appearances on the ITF Pro Circuit.

An accomplished doubles player, he was the 2015 Nike Junior International Queenswood doubles champion and took home the doubles title at the 2015 Malahide Java Republic ITF U18 event in Belfast, Ireland.

When he arrived at OU in August, Davis began a successful fall slate that culminated in an 8-5 record in singles play. Now in spring duals action, Davis has appeared in every match, primarily in the doubles lineup. The freshman, along with junior transfer Alex Bakshi, has compiled a 4-2 record on court three.
