NORMAN – Oklahoma women's golf shot a 2-over 290 in the second round of the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational on Monday in San Antonio, Texas. The Sooners enter Tuesday's final round in seventh place with a 36-hole total of 585 (+9) at the par-72, 6,450-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club.

No. 1 Arkansas leads the event with a two-day score of 554 (-22) and is 18 strokes ahead of second-place TCU (572, -4).

“We had some good moments today,” said OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell. “We made 17 birdies as a team, which is a good feat and shows the capability of our team. We still got in our own way at times which hurt us. We are excited for the challenge tomorrow to end on a strong note.”

Senior Ana Ruiz and freshman Hannah Lee led the Sooners on Monday by shooting even-par rounds of 72. Ruiz is tied for 38th with a 149 (+5) through two rounds and Lee is tied for 48th at 151 (+7).

Freshman Kaitlin Milligan and senior Hannah Wood combined for nine birdies to each shoot a 73 (+1). Milligan is tied for 21st at 146 (+2) and Wood is two strokes back (148, +4) in a tie for 34th.

Junior Julienne Soo overcame a tough start to shoot 2-under on the final 13 holes and end her day with a 76 (+4). She is tied for 21st (146, +2) after carding a team-best 70 (-2) on Sunday.

The Sooners tee off in the tournament’s final round Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start. Live scoring is available on BirdieFire.com.
