Sooners Close Out Day Two in Georgia

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men’s golf team carded a 278 (-10) during Saturday’s second round at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is taking place at the par-72, 7,017-yard Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Ga.

The 15-team field features four top-5 teams ranked in the latest Golfstat rankings and nine in the top 25. The Sooners head into Sunday’s final round in 14th place with a two-day total of 573 (-3).

Wake Forest moved into the lead after shooting 271 (-17) on Saturday and has a 36-hole total of 553 (-23). Duke and Texas are tied for second place at 558 (-18), followed by Georgia Tech in fourth at 561 (-15).

Junior Brad Dalke led the Sooners during the second round with a season-low 66 (-6), recording six birdies and closing out his day with an eagle on hole No. 18. Dalke moved into a tie for 17th place at 140 (-4) heading into Sunday’s final round. The junior has recorded a team-best seven rounds in the 60s this season.

Senior Grant Hirschman carded a 69 (-3) for his fourth round in the 60s this season. Hirschman is tied for 39th at 143 (-1). Riley Casey heads into Sunday’s final 18 holes tied for 43rd place at 144 (E), posting a 70 (-2) on Saturday.

Sophomore Garett Reband is tied for 53rd after two rounds at 146 (+2). The sophomore finished Saturday’s round with a 73 (+1). Junior Blaine Hale is in 76th place with a two-day total of 153 (+9). Hale carded a 75 (+3) on Saturday.

OU will start the final round on Sunday at 9:36 a.m. CT from hole No. 10. The Sooners are paired with East Tennessee State and Florida State for the third round.
