NORMAN – After the first round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, the No. 5 Oklahoma men’s golf team is in 15th place with a 295 (+7). The three-day, 54-hole tournament is taking place at the par-72, 7,017-yard Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Ga.
The 15-team field features four top-5 teams ranked in the latest Golfstat rankings and nine in the top 25.
No. 3 Oklahoma State leads the elite field at 277 (-11), followed by Texas at 279 (-9) in second place. No. 11 Wake Forest, No. 22 UCLA, Duke and UNLV are all tied for third place at 282 (-6) after round one.
Sophomore Garett Reband leads the Sooners and shares a tie for 44th place with a 73 (+1) after Friday’s opening round.
Senior Grant Hirschman, junior Brad Dalke and sophomore Riley Casey are all tied for 53rd place at 74 (+2). Junior Blaine Hale is in 77th place, recording a 78 (+6) in the first round.
OU will begin the second round at 9:50 a.m. CT on Saturday on hole No. 1. The Sooners are paired with Clemson and Texas A&M.
