NORMAN – The Oklahoma soccer team dropped a tough Big 12 road match to TCU, 2-0, Friday night in Fort Worth.

In the 30th minute, TCU got on the board with a goal from Yazmeen Ryan. Ryan took a shot from just outside the six-yard box, chipping the ball over the head of keeper McKinley Crone.

In the 48th minute, Tara Smith put TCU up 2-0 on a point-blank shot from just three yards out.

In the 25th minute, Crone came up with a great save on a one-on-one battle with TCU’s Oliver. Oliver launched a shot from just outside the six-yard box, but Crone went diving to her right to make the save and keep the game scoreless.

Crone finished the night with ten saves, tying her career high. The freshman leads the Big 12 with 91 saves on the year.

Oklahoma’s best chance of the game came late in the second half as Kristina O’Donnell fired off a pair of back-to-back shots. From just inside the 18-yard box, O’Donnell fired a shot right on goal, but straight into the hands of the TCU keeper.

TCU outshot the Sooners 22-10 on the night. TCU’s Karitas Tomasdottir led all players with five shots on the night, while O’Donnell led all Sooners with four shots.

The Sooners will wrap up their home slate next weekend with matches against Kansas and Kansas State. OU will celebrate Senior Night on Friday, Oct. 20 against Kansas with kickoff set for 7 p.m. Sunday’s home finale against Kansas State will be the annual Pink Game at 1 p.m.
