After exploring team accomplishments in part one, take a look back at some of the individual feats during the Sooners' national championship season in part  two of a two-part series.

Kelsey Arnold

Kelsey Arnold

  • First player in OU history to lead the team in assists in three straight seasons

Falepolima Aviu

  • Five sac flies on the season tied for fourth at OU
  • 18 doubles this year tied for sixth most at OU
  • 18 HBP in 2017 were seventh best at OU
  • Finished the 2017 season fifth in OU history in career sac flies (8) and eighth in career HBP (24)

Caleigh Clifton

  • Set the program record for HBP in a season with 26; second most in the NCAA this season
  • 70 runs scored this season were fourth most at OU and in the Big 12; one of three players to reach 70 runs in a season with Lauren Chamberlain and Norrell Dickson
  • 45 walks this year tied for eighth at OU
  • Became the first player in program history to lead the team in on-base percentage as both a freshman and sophomore; also the first to lead in walks in each of her first two seasons
  • Finished the 2017 season second in OU history in career OBP at .533 (min. 200 AB) and third in career HBP (42)

Macey Hatfield

  • Tied for 10th at OU with three sac flies on the season

Shay Knighten

Shay Knighten

  • Tied for sixth at OU with 460 putouts on the season; first non-catcher to lead the team in putouts since Samantha Ricketts in 2009
  • 70 RBI this year were seventh most at OU (fifth player to reach that total with Lauren Chamberlain, Samantha Ricketts, Lisa Carey and Shelby Pendley) and tied for ninth in Big 12 history
  • Tied for 10th at OU with three sac flies in 2017
  • Joins Chamberlain, Ricketts and Jessica Shults as the only Sooners to lead the team in RBI as both a freshman and sophomore
  • Finished the 2017 season fourth in OU history with a .376 career batting average and ninth with a .619 career slugging percentage (min. 200 AB)

Mariah Lopez

  • Tied for 10th at OU with two saves

Paige Lowary

  • Recorded 11 saves on the season, setting the OU career record in one year (previous was 4 for one season and 9 for a career)
    • The 11 saves also:
      • Tied for fifth in NCAA history and set the Big 12 record
      • Led the NCAA; only three teams had more (ETSU – 13, Marist and UIC – 12)
      • Were more than any Sooners team in history had previously recorded
  • Opponent average of .163 was sixth best at OU (min. 100 IP)
  • WHIP (walks + hits/innings pitched) of 0.80 was ninth best at OU (min. 100 IP)

Paige Parker

  • Strikeout rate of 8.72 was seventh best at OU (min. 100 IP)
  • Opponent average of .179 was eighth best at OU (min. 100 IP)
  • Win percentage of .839 (26-5) was eighth best at OU
  • Tied for 10th at OU with two saves
  • Joined Keilani Ricketts, Kami Keiter and Christine Haag as the only pitchers to lead OU in ERA in three straight years and the only one of the four to lower her ERA each of those seasons
  • Joined Ricketts and Jennifer Stewart as the only Sooners to lead the team in wins, appearances, starts, innings pitched, complete games and shutouts in each of her first three seasons
  • Joined Ricketts, Stewart and Patti Graham as the only Sooners to lead the team in strikeouts in each of her first three seasons
  • Finished the 2017 season second in OU history in career win percentage (.860, 92-15), third in strikeouts (755), fourth in wins (92) and strikeout rate (7.78), fifth in appearances (133) and saves (5), sixth in complete games (70) and innings pitched (679.2), seventh in shutouts (29) and opponent batting average (.182) and eighth in games started (99)
  • Finished the 2017 season sixth in OU history in career on-base percentage at .486 (min. 200 AB)

Nicole Pendley

  • 223 at-bats tied for seventh most in single-season history at OU and tied for fourth in Big 12 annals
  • 65 RBI tied for eighth in program history

Sydney Romero

  • 236 at-bats were third most in OU history and one off the school record set by Analisa Jackson in 1994 and matched by Christy Ring in 2000; also second most in Big 12 history
  • Posted the ninth best strikeout to AB ratio in program history; posted the third best last year and is only player in Top 10 twice

Lea Wodach

  • Finished the 2017 season seventh in OU history in career fielding percentage at .989 (min. 300 chances)
