NORMAN – Women's golf sophomore Julienne Soo added to her list of honors after being named an All-American Scholar, the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced Wednesday.
Soo's academic honor comes after a phenomenal sophomore season as she fired a program second-best 72.38 (+0.47) season-stroke average en route to an individual appearance in the 2017 NCAA Championships. The business major, who was also named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team in April, carded the best 54-hole score in relation to par in OU history (203; -13) and was selected to the All-Big 12 Women's Golf Team.
“Not only did Julienne have a great season on the golf course, she was also a rock star in the classroom,” OU Head Coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. “She's a very good student and a great example of what it looks like to be a student-athlete.”
The criteria for selection to the team includes maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
