OMAHA, Neb. – University of Oklahoma baseball sophomore center fielder Steele Walker (Prosper, Texas) was voted an ABCA Midwest All-Region Second Team selection by the area's coaches. It is the first regional honor of his career and marks the ninth consecutive season that a Sooner has been honored as an ABCA All-Region pick.

Walker, an All-Big 12 First Team honoree, hit a team-leading .333 and slugged .541 on 16 doubles, eight home runs and three triples. He scored 49 runs and drove in 51; becoming the first player at OU with 50 or more in a season since Matt Oberste in 2013.

Through two seasons at OU, Walker is a career .313 hitter with 135 hits, 83 RBI, 33 doubles and 11 home runs. He collected the 100th hit of his career against No. 2 Texas Tech (3/31) to reach the milestone in just 86 games; tied for the eighth fastest at Oklahoma since 2003. Walker not only tied for the team-lead in home runs, he also hit an inside-the-park home run vs. Central Connecticut State (3/5), a go-ahead grand slam at Kennesaw State (3/18), became the first Sooner to go yard at Texas (4/7) since Max White (5/1/11) and homered twice in a series-opening win at Kansas State (5/5).

A season ago, Walker was a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American and a member of the All-Big 12 Freshman Team.
