NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma was named Tuesday as the host institution for multiple NCAA postseason events between 2019 and 2022. OU's Lloyd Noble Center will host a women's gymnastics regional in 2019 and the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships in 2022, while the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club will welcome a women's golf regional in 2019 and a men's golf regional in 2020.
"The University of Oklahoma has a long tradition of hosting championship events," said OU Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione. "Being awarded these postseason competitions by the NCAA is a testament to the top-level preparation and execution our staff has demonstrated in past events at our great venues. We are excited to welcome these championships to Norman and look forward to hosting some of the best student-athletes in the nation."
OU will host the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships for the fifth time when the competition comes to Lloyd Noble Center, April 15-16, 2022. Three of the Sooners' 10 NCAA men's gymnastics titles have been won in Norman, including in 2015 when the university most recently hosted the championships.
Oklahoma will host a women's gymnastics regional on April 6, 2019, marking the fourth women's gymnastics regional to take place in Norman since 2011. Lloyd Noble Center most recently hosted the event in 2015, where the Sooners claimed the regional title.
Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club hosts a women's regional May 6-8, 2019, and a men's regional May 17-20, 2020. Rated No. 18 among Golfweek's best campus courses, Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club previously hosted NCAA regionals for men's golf in 1997 and 2012 and for women's golf in 2013. OU is also slated to host a men's golf regional in 2018, which was awarded to the university in 2015.
In addition to these events, OU is scheduled to continue co-hosting the NCAA Women's College World Series through at least 2020 in Oklahoma City.
