ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 10 University of Oklahoma baseball team lost to No. 13 Michigan, 14-4, at Ray Fisher Stadium on Friday evening. The first top-25 series loss of the season for the Sooners dropped them to 27-11 overall, while the Wolverines improved to 28-7.

Oklahoma put together a two-out rally in the top of the first; scoring three times on three hits and a walk.

Staked to a 3-0 lead, freshman right-hander Nathan Wiles (Overland Park, Kan.) gave it all back and more as Michigan plated four runs on five hits with each run coming with two outs. Wiles (4-2) was pulled in the second as he lasted just 1.2 innings with eight runs scored against him on nine hits and a walk.

Wolverine right-hander Ryan Nutof (4-1) bounced back after the first inning and retired 13 in a row until a leadoff-single in the sixth by OU freshman pinch-hitter Brady Lindsly (Keller, Texas). Nutoff pitched six innings with three runs on four hits and a walk to go with six strikeouts.

UM third baseman Drew Lugbauer powered the Wolverine offense with a 3-for-4 day with three runs, four RBI and a three-run home run. Michigan totaled 17 hits on the day as second baseman Ako Thomas and first baseman Jake Bivens added 3-for-4 games.

Game three of the series is set for 1 p.m. CT.
