NORMAN – The No. 34 Oklahoma women’s tennis team travels to Stillwater, Okla, on Friday to take on No. 8 Oklahoma State at 5 p.m. CT in this year’s Bedlam contest.
The Sooners (11-6, 2-4 Big 12) come into the match following back-to-back victories over Kansas and Kansas State in their final regular season home contests. Oklahoma swept then-No. 23 Kansas, 4-0, before defeating Kansas State, 4-2, on Senior Day.
Lily Miyazaki enters Friday's match ranked No. 29 in ITA singles rankings. The junior has compiled an 11-4 record at No. 1 singles for the Sooners, with 10 of her victories coming in straight sets. Julie Byrne and Malene Stripp broke into the ITA doubles rankings at No. 80 this week. The pair is 7-3 from the No. 1 line this season.
At No. 34 nationally, the Sooners have tied their highest ranking this season.
