Sooners Finish Eighth at The Dickson

NORMAN – The No. 22 Oklahoma women’s golf team finished Tuesday’s third and final round of The Dickson taking eighth place. The 16-team event was held at the par-72, 6,296- yard The Woodlands Country Club in The Woodlands, Texas.

The Sooners carded a 301 (+13) on the day for a three-round 882 (+18). No. 2 Florida State finished at the top of the leaderboard with an 843 (-21), and No. 15 Kent State placed second at 867 (+3). TCU took third place with an 868 (+4).

Julienne Soo came out with a share of ninth place out of 90 competitors with a 215 (-1). The sophomore carded a 71 (-1) on day one and 75 (+3) for round two. Soo fired a 69 (-3) in round three, carding five birdies on the day. 

Valerie Tanguay finished the tournament with a share of 24th place at 220 (+4). The junior pocketed three birdies in Monday’s round one (70; -2) and played bogey-free until the last two holes in round two. Tanguay shot a 78 (+6) on Tuesday to close out the tournament.

Rylee Pedigo owned 40th place for the Sooners (224; +8), shooting a 74 (+2) in both the first and second rounds. The junior ended the final round carding a 76 (+4).

Ana Ruiz finished in a share of 51st place at 226 (+10). The junior finished the final round of the tournament posting a 79 (+7). Classmate Hannah Wood was close behind, sharing 54th (227; +11) after recording a 78 (+6) in the third and final round.

“We had a tough day as a team,” OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. “Julienne played really well this week. She stayed composed throughout the day and ended up placing in the top-10. We have a couple weeks to work on things we struggled with this tournament as well as continuing to work on areas we are very good.”

The Sooners return to the course on March 10-12 in Tucson, Ariz., for the Mountain View Collegiate tournament at the Mountain View Golf Club.
