STILLATER, Okla.  –  The No. 17 Oklahoma wrestling team fell to top-ranked Oklahoma State, 37-3, on Sunday afternoon in the second Bedlam contest of the season inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Redshirt senior Ross Larson owned the Sooners only win of the dual, downing OSU’s Derek White by 8-0 major decision in the heavyweight matchup. The Sooners lost a point from the final score after an unsportsmanlike conduct call in the 149-pound bout.

Larson struck first with a quick takedown and turned White for a 4-point nearfall to lead 6-0 after the first period of action. Larson escaped in the second for the only point of the period and secured the riding-time point in the third for the bonus-point victory.

The contest started out at 125 pounds, with redshirt Christian Moody dropping a 10-5 decision to No. 11 Nick Piccininni, No. 3 Kaid Brock downed Jacob Rubio by 18-3 technical fall in seven minutes in the 133-pound matchup.

At 141 pounds, Mike Longo dropped a hard-fought 5-3 decision to top-ranked Dean Heil, and No. 13 Davion Jeffries lost to No. 3 Anthony Collica by 12-3 major decision in the 149-pound bout.

No. 6 Joseph Smith downed redshirt sophomore Jared Schieber by 18-1 technical fall in 5:58 at 157 pounds, and in the 165-pound contest, No. 8 Chandler Rogers pinned No. 10 Yoanse Mejias in 5:31.

In the 174-pound matchup, redshirt senior Matt Reed dropped a 4-2 decision to No. 9 Kyle Crutchmer, and DaWaylon Barnes, who wrestled up at 184 pounds, lost to No. 6 Nolan Boyd by 17-0 technical fall in 5:12.

At 197 pounds, No. 8 Preston Weigel of OSU held a 2-1 advantage through two periods of action, but Brad Johnson countered with a late takedown in the third to lead 3-2. Weigel escaped and secured the riding-time point for the 4-3 win.

Oklahoma returns home on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. in McCasland Field House for its final dual of the season against Oregon State. The Sooners will recognize Clark Glass, Brad Johnson, Ross Larson and Matt Reed in the team’s Senior Night ceremony.
