Coach Info:
Position: Volunteer Assistant

Allison Boevers joined the Sooners in the fall of 2016 as a volunteer assistant coach with the throws group.

Since her arrival in Norman as a volunteer assistant coach for the throws group prior to the 2016-2017 season, Boevers has helped coach the throws student-athletes to four first team All-America honors, three second team honors, and four Big 12 conference crowns. She has seen the throws student-athletes garner spots on the Sooners’ top-10 all-time performance lists, with two school-record holders (weight throw, discus throw) and more than two student-athletes holding spots on the men’s indoor and outdoor shot put and weight throw, women’s weight throw, hammer throw, discus, and shot put, and one student-athlete in the program top 10 for the javelin throw.

Prior to her arrival in Norman, Boevers coached at Miami University in Ohio for the past two years. She was a volunteer coach for one year, then took over as a part-time assistant coach.  During her time with the RedHawks, she worked predominately with the throwers, particularly the shot put group, and also helped with the pole vault.

Boevers grew up in western Canada before moving to Holland, Mich., before high school. She attended the University of Michigan where she was a four-year letter winner, competing in the discus and shot put.

During her time in Ann Arbor, Boevers became a four-time NCAA outdoor preliminary round qualifier, was named a team captain for the 2010-11 season, and was a Big Ten Conference scorer multiple times.  She graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in English.

She is married to OU throws coach Colin Boevers and the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Wren, in December 2016.  They also have a dog named Tucker.
