Assistant coach Nate Feldman, another new face to the 2016 Oklahoma coaching staff, brings a wealth of success throughout his coaching career as he is set to begin his first year at OU.

Feldman arrives in Norman having spent the last two seasons at Oklahoma State in the same capacity. During his tenure at OSU, the Cowboys experienced historic success including a run to the program’s first NCAA round-of-16 appearance since 2008 and the program’s highest ever ITA ranking (No.5). Oklahoma State went 20-8 in 2016 and hosted an NCAA Regional for the first time since 2007.

“OU is synonymous with the highest level of success, and I am thrilled to have the chance to help coach this storied program,” Feldman said. “Coach Crowell has a great vision for the team moving forward and I couldn't be happier to start working with him.”

Before joining the Cowboys, Feldman spent three seasons at Norfolk State where he coached both the men’s and women’s teams. Under Feldman the Spartans saw historic success, with the men’s team winning a share of its first conference title in program history in 2013. For his efforts, Feldman was named the 2013 MEAC Coach of the Year.

“Nate brings a wealth of experience to the University of Oklahoma,” Crowell said. “He has been coaching for more than 11 years and everywhere he’s gone has been a winner. We’re excited to have him join our staff and continue the winning tradition at Oklahoma.”

Prior to his run at Norfolk State, Feldman spent time on staff with the 2010 North Carolina women’s team, which reached the NCAA semifinals and spent four weeks as the nation's top-ranked team.  After his time with the Tar Heels, Feldman helped guide the Middle Tennessee State men's squad to a Sun Belt tournament title, earning him a nomination for the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Assistant Coach of the Year award.

Feldman also spent time on the professional circuit, instructing players in the ATP, ITF, WTA and USTA. As a collegiate player, Feldman was a co-captain at the University of Minnesota where he helped push the Gophers to a top-10 finish in 2003 and earned three consecutive Academic All-Big 10 honors.
