NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma head men's basketball coach Lon Kruger issued the following statement Wednesday on Isaiah Cousins, who was hit with an errant bullet Tuesday night in his home state of New York:
"I've spoken to Isaiah and he is doing well. It truly was a matter of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was simply talking to some friends when an outsider fired a shot. Everyone we've spoken to said they don't believe anyone in his group was a target. The bullet struck him in the back of the shoulder and doctors are not planning surgery. He should be healed in a few weeks and begin summer activities with the rest of the team in June. We're very thankful it wasn't worse than it was."
