NORMAN, Okla. – Seventh-seeded Oklahoma (50-11) opens defense of its 2013 National Championship at the 2014 Women’s College World Series Thursday night at 8:30 against No. 2 Alabama (50-11) on ESPN2.
Making their fourth-straight WCWS appearance and ninth overall, the Sooners face off against the Crimson Tide in a rematch of the 2012 National Championship. OU is 2-2 all-time against Alabama in the WCWS, winning once in 2003 and taking one of three games in 2012.
In their second game of the double elimination tournament, the Sooners will face either No. 6 Louisiana-Lafayette (49-8-1) or No. 14 Kentucky (48-14). A win over Alabama would have OU play on Friday night at 8:30, while a loss would see Oklahoma play its second game Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
All-session tickets are sold out for the Women’s College World Series, but fans can still purchase an Outfield Flex Ticket Package or tickets for specific sessions. Oklahoma begins play Thursday in session two. Tickets can be purchased online at NCAA.com/WCWS.
