HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- After three rain delays totaling eight hours and 10 minutes, the first round of the 2014 NCAA Championships at Prairie Dunes Country Club was suspended until Saturday morning. The event's afternoon wave, which included the No. 13 seed University of Oklahoma men's golf team, did not have a chance to tee off for the first round on Friday.
Just 15 teams in the 30-team field saw the course, with one group reaching hole No. 11, but no squad had all five players complete nine holes. Play will resume at 7 a.m. CT on Saturday for teams with rounds in progress. There will be no specified tee times for the round.
OU's lineup for the NCAA Championships will feature junior Michael Gellerman, senior Michael Schoolcraft, sophomore Beau Titsworth, junior Charlie Saxon and freshman Max McGreevy.
