Webb Falls in NCAA Round of 16

NORMAN, Okla.—Dane Webb, the last Sooner standing, saw his NCAA run come to an end Friday in the round of 16 at the NCAA Men’s Singles Tennis Championship at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia.

After posting two straight upsets, Webb was defeated by Roberto Cid of South Florida, 6-2, 7-5. The junior finished his season with a 27-4 record in singles play.

Webb was part of the Oklahoma men’s tennis team that recorded the best single-season win percentage in program history (.875). The Sooners also made a historic run in the championships, finishing as the NCAA runner-up.
