DALLAS, Texas – The Sooners remain in North Texas for their final non-conference game of the season with a 6:30 pm tilt at Dallas Baptist Tuesday night.

Oklahoma improved to 27-25 overall and coming off a 1-2 weekend at TCU. Junior Mac James leads the Sooners with a .347 batting average and 39 RBI. Sophomore left fielder Hunter Haley is hitting .303 with a team-high 41 runs and 11 stolen bases. He is tied for the team lead in home run with freshman infielder Sheldon Neuse at six. Oklahoma is 20-11 in non-conference games with James hitting at a .411 clip. Freshman RHP Jake Elliott returned to the rotation on Saturday for his first start since April 5. He is 2-3 with a 3.27 earned run average, best among OU starters, and 35 strikeouts, while holding opponents to a .219 average.

1st - On the Air

Veteran OU broadcaster Toby Rowland will handle the play-by-play on KREF Sports Talk 1400 AM and 98.5 FM. Rowland will be joined by OU’s sports information director Brendan Flynn on the call.

2nd - Series Recap

The Sooners dropped the weekend opener, 10-2 and bounced back with a 7-5, 11-inning win on Saturday. The series finale went to TCU on Sunday, 9-1. In game two, Elliott pitched five-scoreless innings of two-hit ball. Oklahoma got through the visitor’s half of the ninth inning with a 5-0 lead, but watched it slip away as the Horned Frogs rallied for five runs on five hits in the bottom half. Oklahoma threatened first in the 10th, but was unable to push across a run and needed a double play in the bottom to keep TCU off the board and extend the game. In the 11th, sophomore center fielder Craig Aikin walked, moved to third on a single by redshirt-junior right fielder Taylor Alspaugh and scored on a wild pitch.

3rd - Scouting the Patriots

Dallas Baptist is 33-18 overall following a series win at Wichita State. First baseman Mike Wesolowski leads a team that is hitting a collective .257 with a .316 average. He has scored 45 runs and driven in 30, while adding five home runs. Center fielder Austin Listi is batting .285 and leads the Patriots in runs and RBI at 47 and 40, whil smacking nine home runs. Right-hander Joseph Shaw (4-3) started against Oklahoma last month. He owns a 3.05 ERA in 44.1 innings of work to go with 39 strikeouts.

4th - All-Time vs. DBU

Oklahoma leads the all-time series against Dallas Baptist, 21-9. However, the Patriots have won each of the last seven match-ups; all in the last four seasons. DBU upset OU in the first game of the 2011 NCAA Fort Worth Regional, 3-2, en route to a surprise appearance in the Santa Clara Super Regional against California. The last Sooner win was a 14-0 victory at home in 2010. Oklahoma won the first-ever match-up between the two teams, 13-3, in 1978.

5th - Last Time They Met

Shaw pitched six-scoreless innings of one-hit ball to earn the win in a 9-1 Patriots victory. The Sooners were held to a season-low three hits in the game. Listi went 4-for-5 with four runs and a home run for Dallas Baptist. Sophomore LHP Jeffrey Curran pitched a career-best three innings as he sat down all nine batters faced.

6th - Bedlam Series

The regular season comes to an end with the Bedlam Series against Oklahoma State. The Sooners will be the visitor’s this season. Game one is Thursday night at Bricktown Ballpark in OKC. The final two games will be played at Tulsa’s ONEOK Field. All games will start at 7:00 pm and game one will be broadcast by Sooner Sports TV.

7th - Getting The Call

Right-handed pitcher Chase Anderson received his Major League call-up from Double-A with the Arizona Diamondbacks on May 6. He made his debut in a 5.1-inning start against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday and picked up the win as he allowed just one run on two hits, while striking out six.

8th - Triple Nation

Oklahoma ranks seventh in the country and first in the Big 12 with 21 triples. Three players are among the top 60 in the nation, including Neuse (2nd, 7), Haley (11th, 6) and Aikin (58th, 4).

9th - Dialing it Up

Freshman RHP Alec Hansen has made just one start and nine total appearances, spanning 11 innings. However, he has the ability to touch triple digits on the radar gun and has his fastball consistently in the 95-97 range. Hansen was in the 98-99 range in 1.2 innings of relief at TCU on Saturday.

Extras - Big 12 Tournament

The 2014 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship will be held at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, May 21-25. The Sooners clinched a spot in the tournament as they are three games up on Kansas State with three games to play and hold the tiebreaker with a 2-1 series win back in March.
