Oklahoma steps out of conference play for a pair of midweek games against Central Arkansas (20-29, 9-11 Southland) on Tuesday and North Texas (28-15, 12-5) on Wednesday. Tuesday night features 50 cent hot dogs and coke, while Wednesday will have the first pitch thrown out by members of the national champion women’s gymnastics team.
Oklahoma has never lost to either team, sporting a 6-0 mark vs. Central Arkansas and 24-0 record against North Texas. The 24-0 record against the Mean Green is the best for OU against any opponent in program history that it is undefeated against, while the mark against the Bears ranks in the top five:
|Stephen F. Austin||12-0|
In addition, the 24-game winning streak is the second-longest active streak for Oklahoma against a Division-I opponent:
|Opponent||Streak||Series Record||Last Loss|
|Stephen F. Austin||12||12-0||N/A|
Oklahoma and Central Arkansas have not met since 2009. OU and UNT met last year in Denton on April 23 in a game that was originally to be played in Norman on April 10, but it was rained out. Oklahoma won its final non-conference game of the season with a 12-1, six-inning win. Junior Shelby Pendley was 2-4 in the game with two runs scored and four RBI,
including a three-run home run.

OU WINS ANOTHER BATTLE FOR FIRST PLACE
For three straight weekends, the first-place Sooners took on the team right behind them in the Big 12 standings. In nine such contests, Oklahoma went 7-2, putting the Sooners in position to win an unprecedented third staight Big 12 title. No team has won three consecutive league champsionships, and back-to-back crowns have only happened three times (Oklahoma in ‘99-00, Texas in ‘02-03 and Oklahoma in ‘12-13).
On April 4-6, the 4-0 Sooners swept a three-game series, including a pair of run-rule wins, against a Kansas team that entered 3-0. April 11-13, OU was 7-0 when it visited Baylor, which was 3-1. The Sooners then took two of three games from the Bears. This past weekend, the 9-1 Sooners welcomed in 6-1 Texas and proceeded to take two of three games.
SERIES WIN OVER TEXAS PUTS OU IN BIG 12 LEAD
Oklahoma controls its own destiny for the Big 12 title after winning the series against Texas last weekend. A pair of home runs in the fifth inning of the opener by Georgia Casey and Brittany Williams aided Kelsey Stevens’ three-hitter in OU’s 4-1 victory. Texas battled back with a 9-0, six-inning win in game two, handing the Sooners their first run-rule loss since March 28, 2009. In the rubber match, a four-run first and four-run third were the difference in an 8-0, five-inning win.

OU TAKES TWO OF THREE AT BAYLOR
Oklahoma took two of three at Baylor to maintain control of the Big 12 title race. A two-run homer from Leslie Miller and RBI triple by Georgia Casey in the fifth gave OU a 3-2 win in the opener. Game two saw Kelsey Stevens fire a one-hitter and Kady Self and Shelby Pendley delivered RBI singles to give the Sooners a 2-0 win. Baylor salvaged one game in the series, winning the finale 8-6 to end OU’s 14-game win streak.
