Women’s Golf Trio Named Academic All-Big 12
April 16, 2014

NORMAN, Okla. -- Three members of the 13th-ranked Oklahoma women’s golf team were among 21 student-athletes from nine schools named to the 2014 Academic All-Big 12 Women’s Golf First Team, the conference announced Wednesday.

Seniors Emily Collins (a communication major), Kaitlyn Rohrback (economics) and Anne-Catherine Tanguay (management) earned first-team honors with a 3.20 GPA or better. It marked the third time for both Collins and Tanguay to make the Academic All-Big 12 Team.

“Anne-Catherine, Emily and Kaitlyn take their academics very seriously,” OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. “They are great role models when it comes to balancing school and golf. They’ve always been great students and I couldn’t be happier for them to receive this honor.”

To qualify for the Academic All-Big 12 Team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher, either cumulatively or over the two previous semesters, and must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible. First-team members have maintained a 3.20 GPA or higher, while second-team members have earned a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

Oklahoma’s next tournament is the Big 12 Championship, to be held April 25-27 in Austin, Texas.
