NORMAN, Okla. -- OU fans are invited to join the Oklahoma soccer team for its final match of the spring season this Saturday, April 5. The Sooners are set to face Arkansas at 2 p.m. at John Crain Field in the OU Soccer Complex. The match is free and open to the public.
Following the conclusion of the game between the Sooners and the Razorbacks, Oklahoma will host a spring soccer clinic in conjunction with the Notah Begay III Foundation (NB3). The free clinic will run from approximately 4 to 5:45 p.m. and is for all Native American boys and girls, ages 5-12.
There is no registration fee for the event, but space is limited to the first 200 participants. Participants involved will learn soccer skills from NB3 certified coaches and members of the OU soccer team.
Those wishing to learn more or pre-register may find contact information here, or by visiting the link labeled "NB3 Clinic Flier" in the top right corner of this article.
Head coach Matt Potter and the OU soccer staff will lead a squad into 2014 that includes 18 student-athletes who saw playing time in 2013. Oklahoma ended its 2013 campaign at 4-13-1 overall while facing one of the nation's most challenging slates. A young Sooner squad faced seven top 25 opponents throughout the season, gaining valuable experience on the road and at home in Norman.
