NORMAN, Okla. --The OU Spring Game presented by US Fleet Tracking will salute the Sooner Jr. program with partnering elementary schools, including the Norman, Moore, Mid-Del and Oklahoma City public school systems. Students in those districts will receive a flyer at school in the coming days that can be redeemed for one complimentary admission. Students can present this flyer at Gate 5 between 12:30 p.m. and kickoff on game day. Parents can purchase tickets on SoonerSports.com.

OU students (with current ID), members of the Sooner Kids Club, children five and under will also be admitted free. For more information on joining the Sooners Kids Club, call (405) 325-6353 or view information online at SoonerSports.com.

Kickoff for the OU Spring Game is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The day’s festivities begin at 8 a.m. with the annual OU Spring Sale in McCasland Fieldhouse with vendors including the OU Bookstore, the OU Equipment Room, Balfour, Big Red Shop and Bedlam Sports selling a wide variety of apparel and Sooners’ merchandise.

At 10 a.m. the Sooner Jr. Kids Zone opens in the McCasland Fieldhouse parking lot. Free carnival rides will include Bear Affair, The Hurricane, Castlemania, Elephants and Boat Ride. Sooner Jr. will have interactive games throughout the morning promoting F.A.N.S. – Fitness Fun, Academics, Nutrition and Sportsmanship. The Sooner Schooner will be on display for pictures with Boomer and Sooner. In addition, Sooner Sports TV will host its live pregame show from the location starting at 1 p.m.

The third annual Big Boomer BBQ kicks off at noon in the Brooks parking lot, directly east of the McCasland Fieldhouse parking lot. A variety of barbeque will be available for purchase from Homeland/Head Country and Rudy’s. Water and soft drinks will also be available for purchase. A live DJ will be entertaining on the main stage with a pregame pep rally featuring OU Spirit and the Pride of Oklahoma.

A pregame ceremony will honor past OU Football greats in attendance for the game. The Sooner Jr. Spirit Squad will perform during the game and there will be a halftime salute to Oklahoma’s victory in the 80th Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Live music inside the stadium will be provided by the Pride of Oklahoma and “My So Called Band,” a Norman-based group that specializes in ‘90s cover songs. OU students are encouraged to join the team on the field following the conclusion of the game to interact with student-athletes during a free one-hour postgame concert (no autographs permitted). Other fans will be encouraged to remain in their seats to enjoy the concert.

OU Football season ticket holders can reserve their free tickets for the contest. Season ticket holders are eligible to request the same number of seats for the OU Spring Game as they have for regular season games.

Tickets must be requested prior to the March 31 season ticket renewal deadline.

For individuals wishing to purchase tickets to the spring game, they are currently available for $5 online or by calling the OU Athletics Ticket Office by calling (405) 325-2424 or toll-free at (800) 456-4668. The price will increase to $10 on April 9.

All seating is general admission for the Spring Game. All normal game entry policies remain in place for the Spring Game relative to permitted items. Campus parking lots will be open and free of charge for fans attending the Spring Game.
