Pendley recorded Oklahoma's lone hit in game one of a doubleheader Saturday, singling to lead off the seventh inning. She was 1-2 with a walk. Pendley also made her collegiate pitching debut, throwing 2.0 scoreless innings with a strikeout.

LAFAYETTE, La. – No. 19/13 Oklahoma (18-7) saw its season-high five-game winning streak come to an end in a 7-0 loss in game one of a doubleheader Saturday at No. 23/24 Louisiana-Lafayette (16-6-1).

OU, which hadn’t lost since a 7-2 defeat at the hands of then-No. 16/15 Nebraska on March 1, suffered its second shutout loss of the season.

The Sooners collected one hit in Saturday’s loss, which came off the bat of junior Shelby Pendley to lead off the seventh inning. The single to centerfield marked the second time this season that she has broken up a no-hitter in the seventh inning, also doing so with two outs in the seventh inning at Arizona State on Feb. 14.

Pendley was 1-2 on the day with a walk. She was joined by senior Javen Henson, who was hit by a pitch in the second inning, as the lone OU baserunners in the contest.

In the fifth inning, Pendley made her collegiate pitching debut. A pitcher in high school, Pendley threw the game’s final two innings. She walked three and struck out one.

Louisiana-Lafayette broke through in the third inning, scoring a pair of runs on an RBI double by Shelbi Redfearn and a run-scoring single by Kelsey Vincent.

The Ragin’ Cajuns then broke the game wide open with a five-run fourth inning.

Corin Voiche hit an RBI single before Haley Hayden added an RBI double to make it 4-0. Lexie Elkins pushed the lead to 6-0 with a two-run double down the left field line, while later in the frame Vincent picked up her second RBI with a single to center field.

Sophomore Kelsey Stevens got the start for OU and had her streak of five straight starts with a win snapped. She allowed two runs on three hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

Fellow sophomores Leslie Miller and Taylor Dewbery followed in relief. Miller allowed three runs on four hits in two-thirds of an inning, while Dewbery yielded two runs on three hits in 1.0 inning of work. Pendley then replaced Dewbery to close out the game.
