Oklahoma hosts Bradley Tuesday at 6 p.m. as the Sooners make their 2014 TV debut. The game will be shown live on Fox Sports Southwest and Fox College Sports with Bruce Haertl and former Sooner D.J. Sanchez on the call.
Oklahoma and Bradley have never met, though OU has a lengthy history against schools from the Missouri Valley Conference dating back to its first matchup against Wichita State on March 22, 1975.
OU, which is 92-24 all-time against Missouri Valley teams, has won 12 in a row and 35 of its past 36 meetings against schools from the conference. Earlier this year, the Sooners defeated Illinois State, 11-6, at the Littlewood Classic in Phoenix, Ariz.
In the current 12-game winning streak vs. MVC schools, OU has posted 10 or more runs six times and has won five games via run-rule.
A quick look at which Sooners have been enjoying recent success:
FACING THE CREAM OF THE CROP

SOONERS DROP SERIES AT LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE
Oklahoma dropped a three-game series at Louisiana-Lafayette, winning the opener Friday night but losing both games of a doubleheader Saturday.
In the opener, Whitney Ellis and Erin Miller each drove in three runs as OU won, 13-5. Georgia Casey tied a career high in hits by going 3-4 and matched a career high with three runs scored as OU ran its win streak to a season-high five games.
Game two saw Shelby Pendley collect OU’s lone hit to lead off the seventh inning of a 7-0 loss. It was the second time this season that Pendley spoiled a no-hitter in the seventh, also doing so at Arizona State on Feb. 14. In addition, Pendley made her collegiate pitching debut in the fifth inning. She threw the game’s final two innings, walking three and striking out one.
The highlight of OU’s 3-1 loss in the series finale was Pendley extending her hitting streak to 10 games, matching a career high set from March 31-April 14, 2012, while she was a freshman at Arizona.
AMONG THE NATION'S BEST
Below is a list of all OU’s top-20 rankings in the latest NCAA Statistics (Games through 3/16).

ELLIS, STEVENS EARN BIG 12 WEEKLY HONORS
For the first time in their respective careers, sophomores Whitney Ellis and Kelsey Stevens received weekly honors from the Big 12. Ellis was named the co-Big 12 Player of the Week, while Stevens was chosen as the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week after leading the Sooners to a 4-0 mark last week.
Ellis was a team-best 9-13 (.692) with three home runs, 12 RBI, five runs scored and two stolen bases. She got on-base at a .714 clip and slugged 1.462. Ellis led the Sooner in average (.692), hits (9), doubles (1), RBI (12), OBP (.714) and stolen bases (2).
Stevens won all three of her starts for the Sooners in complete-game efforts, striking out 27 batters in 19.0 innings of work.
STEVENS, CHAMBERLAIN GUIDE OU PAST NO. 20 TULSA
Kelsey Stevens established a season high with 11 strikeouts as OU beat No. 20 Tulsa, 1-0, on March 9. She allowed just two walks and gave up two hits in 23 at-bats (.087) to limit a Golden Hurricane squad that came in with a .336 team batting average.
Stevens outdueled two-time All-American Aimee Creger, who had 11 strikeouts, too. Creger made one mistake though, a solo home run hit by Lauren Chamberlain in the sixth.
RUN-RULE WINS AT COURTYARD MARRIOTT TOURNAMENT
In the opening two games of the Courtyard Marriott Tournament in Norman on March 7, OU posted run-rule wins over Liberty and Western Illinois.
Oklahoma tied a school record with six home runs, including two each from Lauren Chamberlain and Shelby Pendley in an 18-3, five-inning win over Liberty. The six homers tied a record set against Pacific on Feb. 22, 2008. OU followed that with a 9-1, six-inning win over Western Illinois.
ELLIS’ TWO HOME RUNS GUIDE OU PAST LOUISIANA TECH
A five-run first inning and a pair of home runs by sophomore Whitney Ellis carried No. 19/13 Oklahoma to an 11-3, six-inning victory over Louisiana Tech on March 4. It was the first multi-home run game for Ellis as she hit a three-run homer in the first and a walk-off, two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth. She finished 3-4 at the plate, with three runs scored, five RBI and a stolen base.
CHAMBERLAIN SETS BIG 12, OU CAREER HOME RUN MARK
After homering in the first game of the season to tie the Oklahoma and Big 12 career home run mark, junior Lauren Chamberlain broke the mark in game one of a doubleheader against Arkansas-Pine Bluff Friday.
Chamberlain hit 30 homers as a freshman, 30 as a sophomore and now has two this year for a record-setting mark of 62. It breaks a tie she shared with former Sooner Jessica Shults (61) and has Chamberlain tied with three others for 25th all-time in Division I history. Chamberlain is the active home run leader in Division I softball.
RECORDS FALL IN 35-1 WIN OVER ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF
Several school records were set or tied and the Sooners also etched their names into the NCAA record books after a 35-1, five-inning win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff in game two of a doubleheader on Friday.
|Stat||Player/Team||OU Rank||NCAA Rank|
|17 Runs in an Inning||Team||1st||T-2nd|
|34-Run Margin of Victory||Team||1st||T-6th|
|4 Home Runs in an Inning||Team||T-1st||T-7th|
|44 Total Bases||Team||1st||T-15th|
|10 RBI||Shelby Pendley||1st||T-4th|
|5 Runs Scored||Lauren Chamberlain||T-1st||T-13th|
|4 Walks||Lauren Chamberlain||T-1st||T-16th|
With wins in its first three home games of the year, Oklahoma ran its winning streak at Marita Hynes Field to 16 games. It was ended in game two of a doubleheader against Nebraska, but not before becoming the fifth longest streak in OU history.
MARTINEZ NAMED BIG 12 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Destinee Martinez has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week. It’s the first weekly conference honor for an OU player in 2014 and the first for Martinez her in her career.
Martinez hit .500 for the weekend (8-16) and led the team in runs scored (7), hits (8), RBI (7) on-base percentage (.556) and stolen bases (4). Among her highlights, she was 4-4 against Oregon State and drove in a career high three RBI against both Northwestern and Syracuse.
SOONERS TURN TRIPLE PLAY
The final score of 11-1 in five innings illustrates how strong the OU offense was against LMU (2/8), but it was the defense that came through with the highlight of the day on a triple play.
OU led 4-1 in the top of the fourth, but LMU had runners on first and second. A sharp grounder by Taryn Renowden was hit to junior Shelby Pendley at third base. She stepped on third for the force, threw to senior Javen Henson at second base for the second out and Henson threw on to junior Lauren Chamberlain at first base to complete the 5-4-3 triple play.
