Sooners Host Second Clinic

Head Coach Jim VanHootegem and the University of Oklahoma track and field coaching staff will host the second of a series of coaches’ education sessions on Wednesday, March 5.

It will feature Irving “Boo” Schexnayder, the director of the US Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association’s Track and Field Academy. His topic will be "Speed and Circuit Training for Injury Prevention."

The session will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a meal and will run until 9 p.m. Cost for the session is $20 and it will be held at Headington Hall, the newest residential facility on the Norman campus.

The final session will be held April 2. Presenting that night will be Derek Evely, who has coached three World Junior medalists and Olympic participants. His topic will be "Planning During the Competitive Season."

Dan Pfaff, who worked with nine Olympic medalists and a total of 49 Olympians, was the first presenter.
