NORMAN, Okla. -- After recording a 6-under-par 282 on Monday, the 14th-ranked Oklahoma men's golf teams sits in seventh place through two rounds with a 577 (+1) at the competitive Puerto Rico Classic. The tournament is being played at the 6,092-yard, par-72 River Course at the Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa in Rio Grande, P.R.

The Sooners started the day in a tie for 11th place after recording a 295 (+7) on Sunday against a 15-team field that features 11 ranked in the top 50 of the latest Golfweek/Sagarin poll, including five that are within the top 15.

No. 1 Alabama still holds the lead with a 545 (-31), No. 4 Georgia Tech is in second with a 555 (-21) and No. 6 Georgia holds third with a 559 (-17). No. 31 Clemson and No. 43 Purdue complete the top five with scores of 563 (-13) and 571 (-5), respectively.

"We had three of our five guys play well today, and we are looking for a great round out of everyone tomorrow to move up the board," OU head coach Ryan Hybl said. "Max (McGreevy) and the two Michaels (Gellerman and Schoolcraft) we very solid today."

With a career-best 67 (-5) for the second 18 holes, freshman Max McGreevy climbed the leaderboard from 42nd place to a tie for 13th. McGreevy, whose two-round total is 141 (-3), pocketed seven birdies in the second round.

Michael Gellerman also shot a lower score than on Sunday, recording a 3-under 69 to go with his 5-over 76. With a 145 (+1), the junior, who made five birdies Monday, shares 32nd place.

With a 147 (+3), sophomore Beau Titsworth is currently tied for 41st place. Titsworth fired a 1-under 71 on Sunday and added a second-round 76 (+4).

Senior Michael Schoolcraft posted an eight-stroke improvement from the first to second rounds, carding a 2-under par 70 on Monday to sit in a tie for 46th place with a 148 (+4). Schoolcraft, who started the day on hole No. 15, eagled the par-4 No. 13 hole.

Junior Charlie Saxon is tied for 56th place with a two-day total of 150 (+6).

The final round of the Puerto Rico Classic is slated to begin at 7 a.m. CT Tuesday with a shotgun start. Live stats (updated every three holes) will be available at GolfStat.com.
