Oklahoma and Texas Tech were first to tip off conference play with a 6:30 p.m. Central start at United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, Texas. Oklahoma was picked the preseason favorite by the Big 12’s coaches, earning five first-place votes.

The Sooners have won six straight and 17 of the last 18 meetings against the Lady Raiders. OU leads the overall series 27-22 and is 11-13 in Lubbock.

Oklahoma’s 68-38 win was its second highest margin of victory in the all-time series versus Texas Tech.

Senior guard Aaryn Ellenberg returned to the starting lineup after missing the Dec. 29 game versus Samford due to a concussion. It was the first game Ellenberg missed in her career after 116 consecutive appearances.

Ellenberg hit seven of nine field goal attempts and was 3-for-3 from 3-point range for a game-high 17 points. Ellenberg is 68 3-pointers shy of the NCAA career record of 392.

Ellenberg needs just 16 points to reach 2,000 in her career.

Sherri Coale earned her 391st victory, leaving her nine short of 400.
