Oklahoma vs. Mercer

• All five Oklahoma starters scored in double figures for the second straight game and the Sooners beat Mercer 96-82 to improve to 6-1 on the year.  Mercer is the defending Atlantic Sun Conference regular season champion and starts five seniors.

• Oklahoma led by as many as 31 points twice in the second half.  Down 10-8, the Sooners used a 16-0 run to go up 24-10.  Ahead 13 at half, OU then used an 18-0 run to start the second half to go up 63-32 with 16:21 to go.

• The Sooners entered the game ranked 17th out of 345 NCAA Division I teams with their 87.5 points per game.  Their season average increased to 88.7 after tonight.

• OU turned in one of its best overall shooting performances of the year, posting a .508 mark from the field and season-best figures of .455 from 3-point range (10-for-22) and .867 from the free throw line (26-for-30).

• The Sooners committed a season-low eight turnovers while Mercer committed 12.  Despite only a +4 turnover margin, OU outscored the Bears 22-9 off turnovers.

• All five OU starters scored in double figures for the second straight game.  After accounting for 80 of the team’s 101 points Friday vs. UALR, the starters registered 82 of the squad’s 96 points tonight (85 percent).

• Sophomore forward Ryan Spangler was 7-for-10 from the field and finished with career highs of 20 points and 13 rebounds.  He hit his second career 3-pointer and was 5-for-7 from the free throw line (he entered the game shooting .350 from the charity stripe on the season).  Spangler has shot 60 percent or better from the field in all seven games and owns a .694 season mark (34-for-49).

• Sophomore guard Buddy Hield scored 14 of his 20 points after halftime.  He was 6-for-11 from the floor and made all six of his free throw attempts.  His 20 points marked his second highest career total.  Hield has scored in double figures in all seven games.

• Senior forward Cameron Clark finished with 19 points, his fourth straight game with at least that many.  Clark went 2-for-4 from 3-point range to maintain his 50 percent mark on the season (11-for-22).

• Freshman point guard Jordan Woodard scored all 13 of his points in the second half (only played six minutes in first half due to picking up his second foul).  He was 8-for-10 from the free throw line and registered a game-high six assists without a turnover.

• Sophomore guard Isaiah Cousins scored in double figures for the third straight game with his 10 points. Cousins went 2-for-3 from 3-point range to up his season percentage to .500 (7-for-14) after shooting .279 last year (10-for-40).

• Oklahoma finished with 17 assists and eight turnovers.  It has committed more turnovers than assists just once this season (14 assists and 15 turnovers against Seton Hall).

• The Sooners are home again Thursday when they host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 7 p.m. CT.
