NORMAN, Okla. -- Four Sooners were victorious against DePaul Friday at the Northwestern Hidden Duals in Evanston, Ill.

Junior Abbi Melrose and sophomore Zita Engbroks defeated Kelsey Lawson and Rebeca Mitrea in straight sets, respectively.

Freshman Morgan Chumney faced Jarret Fisher and won 6-4, 5-7, 6-1. Sophomore Emma Devine topped Jasmin King 6-4, 6-1.

"Emma picked up maybe the best win of her fall today,” OU head coach David Mullins said. “She really stepped up at the top of our lineup without Whitney (Ritchie) and Mia (Lancaster) and played great.”

Seniors Whitney Wofford and Hermon Brhane both fell in straight sets to Zaina Sufi and Patricia Fargas, respectively.

“Overall I was pleased with how we played today,” Mullins said. “But we will have to play much better tomorrow in order to compete with Northwestern."

The Sooners will face Northwestern beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday and will close out the duals against Yale at 9 a.m. Sunday.

At the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championship in Flushing N.Y., seniors Mia Lancaster and Whitney Ritchie defeated Auburns Jackie Kasler and Jennifer Pfeifler, 8-3, in the consolation bracket.

The duo will play the No. 1 seeded Southern Californa duo Brynn Boren and Zoe Katz at 8 a.m. Saturday.
