DALLAS (AP) -- Buddy Hield scored 19 points as Oklahoma pulled away in the final six minutes to defeat Alabama 82-73 on Friday at American Airlines Center.

Ryan Spangler had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Sooners, and Cameron Clark added 14 points.

Algie Key, a junior college transfer playing his first game for the Crimson Tide, led Alabama with 20 points. Retin Obasohan added 14 and Trevor Releford had 12.

Oklahoma clung to a 67-66 lead with 5:20 to play when the Sooners ran off 10 consecutive points to pull ahead 77-67 with 1:07 to play. A breakaway layup by Hield sparked the run.

Spangler, a sophomore, was playing his first game for the Sooners. The Oklahoma native played one season at Gonzaga.

Alabama shot 56.7 percent in the first half but only 38.7 percent in the second half. The Tide hit only three of 15 3-point attempts. Oklahoma shot 44.4 percent, hitting 7-of-21 3-pointers.

Alabama used a 10-point run midway through the first half to build a 16-point lead 8 minutes into the game. Releford, the Tide's leading returning scorer from last season, helped Alabama to the big lead by scoring five points in the first seven minutes but then sat out the remainder of the first half after picking up his third personal foul. Oklahoma then scratched away at Alabama's 26-10 lead and grabbed a one-point lead with 4 minutes to play in the half. The Tide led at intermission 41-40.

Releford played the first seven minutes of the second half before committing his fourth foul, again sending him to the bench.

The Tide outscored the Sooners on fast-break points 14-4. Alabama committed 14 turnovers to nine for Oklahoma.

Oklahoma sophomore guard Isaiah Cousins made the start after missing the Sooners' most recent exhibition game with an injured ankle. He played 23 minutes and finished with seven points and four assists.

Alabama junior guard Levi Randolph, who started 67 games during the previous two seasons, came off the bench after sitting out both of the Tide's exhibition games after injuring a knee in mid-October. Randolph played 31 minutes, contributing eight points and four rebounds.
