Bradford Lost for Season
Just when his season was peaking, St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford saw his 2013 campaign come to a close in Sunday’s 30-15 loss at Carolina.
Late in the fourth quarter, Bradford scrambled out of bounds but in the process ended up tearing the ACL in his left knee. The injury will cause him to miss the rest of the season.
Prior to the injury, Bradford had completed 21 of 30 passes for 255 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Among his highlights were a 25-yard pass to running back Zac Stacy in the first quarter, as well as a 73-yard bomb to wide receiver Brian Quick in the third quarter that set up a four-yard touchdown pass to Stacy.
The injury comes on the heels of back-to-back three-touchdown games for Bradford. He finishes the year with 1,687 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions while completing nearly 61 percent of his passes. His quarterback rating of 90.9 was on pace to become a career high.
On the other side of the ball, defensive end Frank Alexander matched his season high with two tackles in the Panthers’ victory.
