On how much he is looking forward to playing at Notre Dame:
“I’m very excited. You come to Oklahoma to play in a lot of big games and there’s going to be another one this week.”

On last year’s game against Notre Dame:
“They were a good team. They came in here and got the best of us. We’re just looking forward to going there and trying to do the same thing to them.”

On how important it is to get the running game going against Notre Dame:
“It’s huge. It sets up everything for our offense, play-action passes and stuff like that. They’ve got a good front seven. Everyone talks about that. We know that’s going to be a key to the game.”

On how different Notre Dame is compared to last year:
“There are still a lot of similarities to last year. They still have a great front seven even though they don’t have [Manti] Te’o. They have a lot of experienced guys that have played in a lot of games. They’re going to be ready.”

On if playing at a historic program cancels out the awe of playing at Notre Dame:
“I think so. You just know that team has the same tradition behind them and they play with that type of confidence. We will as well.”

On if being able to watch Notre Dame play Michigan State is an advantage:
“It’s a little bit of an advantage, but we are going to watch tape all week. We are going to watch more than just that one game. It’s interesting watching them as more of a fan but this week we will definitely watch more than just that one game.”

On how physical last year’s game was:
“It was a pretty physical game. They’re a really physical team. They have some big guys up front and they try to control the line of scrimmage. That’s what we will have to try to do.”

On the bye week:
“We had one of the best bye weeks since I have been here as far as practice goes.”

On if they are better equipped to handle a team like Notre Dame this year:
“I think so, but they’re going to be a challenge. We definitely have to establish the running game. For us, that’s one of our keys to the game.”

On if there is anything on the historic campus he looks forward to seeing:
“It’s just about the game. That’s our most important focus.”

On if revenge is a factor:
“A little bit, I think revenge kind of goes into it. We just know that we have to come ready to play. If you play emotional and you start making mistakes off of revenge or trying to get somebody’s number you tend to make mistakes. That’s not the type of team we want to be. We want to play more steady. Emotion is definitely going to be a part of it, but you have to control it.”

On if they have a chance to make a statement Saturday:
“I think so. It’s kind of a game [Notre Dame] rollercoasted off last year and we will try to do the same.”

On how confident he is that Blake Bell’s performance will carry over in his first road start:
“I’m very confident. He had a great week of practice last week and having two weeks will probably help him going into this game. He has competed in practice like he still has that chip on his shoulder. He’ll be ready to play.”
