NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma volleyball team takes on the Arkansas for the fourth consecutive season and seventh time overall on Tuesday night. Both teams enter at 3-0, coming off opening weekend tournament victories. Tuesday’s match marks the first of 12 home contests for the Sooners.

About the Sooners... Oklahoma is 3-0 to start the season for the third straight year and seventh in 10 seasons under Santiago Restrepo. The Sooners also went undefeated in tournament play outside of Norman for the first time since 2010 at Missouri State. Senior middle blocker Sallie McLaurin led the OU attack with 4.10 kills per set and a .456 attack percentage at Western Michigan’s Holiday Inn West Invitational over the weekend. For her efforts, she was named Tournament MVP and joined on the All-Tournament team by sophomore Kierra Holst and Julia Doyle.
Scouting the Razorbacks... Arkansas went 3-0 at its home tournament this past weekend with wins over Northwestern State, New Mexico and UMKC. Meredith Hays (3.82), Hayley Kopp (3.18) and Danielle Harbin (3.00) all averaged 3.00 kills per set or better. Raymeriely Santos spent the majority of the tournament at setter, leading the way with 7.27 assists per set, while Ashley Vazquez added 4.91 per set.
Last Time They Met... Oklahoma took the first and Arkansas the second in Fayetteville last season. The Sooners then edged out the Razorbacks in the third, 27-25, despite trailing 19-15 earlier in the set, and went on to claim the fourth, 25-18. Morgan Reynolds led OU with 13 kills, while Holst and McLaurin chipped in with 12 and 11, respectively. The Sooners totaled 14 blocks to the Razorbacks nine, led by McLaurin with eight and Tara Dunn with seven.
Last Time Out... The Sooners swept the field with a 3-0 win over host Western Michigan on Saturday evening. McLaurin tallied a team-high 12 kills, hit .400 and added four blocks, while Holst finished second with 10 kills. Doyle dished out 28 assists in the win, pushing her weekend total to 96. Oklahoma improved to 3-2 all-time against the Broncos.
Offensive Player of the Week... McLaurin was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 1. She averaged 4.10 kills and 1.10 blocks per set, while hitting .456. The award is her seventh career weekly award from the Big 12 and secnd Offensive Player of the Week distinction.
Open House... The Sooners hold a 25-14 record all-time in home opener and are 7-2 under Restrepo. Oklahoma has twice fallen to Arkansas in its home opener; 3-0 in 2002 and 3-2 in 2006.
Against the SEC... Oklahoma posted wins over No. 19 Kentucky and Arkansas last season to improve to 16-19 all-time against the SEC and 6-4 with Restrpo calling the shots. The Sooners are tied in the all-time series with Arkansas, 3-3, their most common opponent out of the SEC.
