NORMAN, Okla. -- Sooner Sports TV powered by FOX Sports kicks off the 2013-2014 season on Monday, Aug. 26 with the OU Sooner Football Press Conference live at 12 p.m. Central on FOX Sports Oklahoma. Covering every sport at Oklahoma, Sooner Sports TV continues to raise the bar as the Sooners’ in-house broadcasting unit increases its program schedule for the 2013-2014 season.
Beginning Wednesday, Sooner Sports TV will debut the newest show in the programming lineup, Sooner Playbook. Host Toby Rowland shines the spotlight on Sooner football as a team of former stars -- Tony Casillas, Dusty Dvoracek and Tim Lashar -- eye the program with the utmost detail. Also joining the crew as a special contributor will be Jay Wilkinson, an All-American as a college quarterback at Duke and son of legendary Oklahoma Head Coach Bud Wilkinson. With technique demonstrations, play diagrams and film breakdown, Oklahoma fanatics will have found the cure for the mid-week football talk cravings.
With an aggressive production schedule of eight original shows per week, Sooner Sports TV will continue to provide weekly updates with Sooner coaches through Sooner Sports Talk on Tuesdays and Coaches’ Corner on Thursdays. Also, the award-winning Sooner Sports Pad, produced by OU’s Gaylord College of Journalism, will return on Monday evenings in front of a live audience in Studio D.
Chad McKee returns as the host of Sooner Game Day alongside Dvoracek as the program increases its coverage for the 2013 season. Sooner Game Day will now air live one-hour prior to kick off from all home and away contests. Immediately following the game, the duo will provide immediate analysis and bring OU fans live coverage of post-game press conferences.
Celebrating its 60th season in existence, OU’s football coaches’ show, Sooner Football with Bob Stoops, returns with a updated look for Sooner fans. A weekly tradition started by coach Bud Wilkinson, the program continues to be the only place to review each game with the Sooners’ head coach.
Outside of the studio, Sooner Athletics will be on full display this fall as OU soccer and volleyball return for another fully-televised season. Coach Matt Potter’s club takes to the pitch for its first home game against Texas State at 12 pm on Sunday, Sept. 1, while Santiago Restrepo’s team’s home opening match against Arkansas will be broadcast live from McCasland Field House at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3.
