Headington Family Tennis Center

Coe Center

The Headington Family Tennis Center is the home to Oklahoma men's and women's tennis. The facility also features the new Gregg Wadley Indoor Tennis Pavilion directly to the east of the outdoor courts.
The facility features 12 outdoor courts, seating for fans, championship lighting and surface, a sound system, electronic scoreboards and benches on every court. The outdoor courts are split into four three-court quadrants for easy access and viewing.
With the addition of the Gregg Wadley Indoor Pavilion, the complex houses 18 courts total, locker rooms for both home teams and visitors, storage for trainers and equipment staff and indoor amenities for fans.
The Headington Family Tennis Center has served host to numerous championship events including NCAA First and Second Rounds seven times (2003, 2004, 2010-13), and the Big 12 Championships in 2004 and 2009. The center is named in honor of a lead gift from 1972 University of Oklahoma graduate and tennis letterwinner Timothy C. Headington.
Mr. Headington, President and CEO of Headington Oil Company in Dallas, earned his bacholor's degree in history at OU, followed by graduate degrees in theology and psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Los Angeles, Calif.
He asked that the tennis center honor his family, including his father, the late Clare W. Headington who, with Tim's uncle J. Edward Headington, formed Headington Oil Company; his mother Catherine Headington, brother Gregory Headington, both of Dallas; and his sister Jeanette Martin of Tulsa, Okla.
