• Veteran defensive coach who wrapped up his sixth campaign with the Sooners in 2017.

• Coached a 2017 unit that was led by honorable mention All-Big 12 selection Emmanuel Beal, who paced the team with 95 tackles and ranked third with 7.0 tackles for loss.

• Kish’s 2016 inside linebackers were led by first-team All-Big 12 pick Jordan Evans, who posted team highs of 98 tackles and four interceptions, as well as 10.0 tackles for loss. His 145 interception return yards set the OU single-season record by a linebacker.

• Among his 2015 inside linebackers were Dominique Alexander and Evans, who finished first (103) and second (83) on the team in tackles. Alexander was a first-team All-Big 12 honoree, while Evans was a second-team choice. The duo also finished fifth and sixth in the Big 12 in tackles per game. Alexander (107) and Evans (93) were also OU’s top two tacklers in 2014. Alexander earned second-team All-Big 12 honors from the AP that season.

• Helped Eric Striker earn third-team All-America honors and consensus All-Big 12 First Team accolades in 2014 after he paced the Sooners with 9.0 sacks and 17.0 TFLs.

• Striker earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors in 2013. He tied a Sugar Bowl record with 3.0 sacks, while adding seven tackles and a forced fumble in a 45-31 victory over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

• Alexander was named the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year and earned Freshman All-America honors in 2013 after being thrust into the starting lineup when senior Corey Nelson suffered a season-ending injury. Nelson would go on to be drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2014 and earn a 2016 Super Bowl ring.

• Named interim head coach at the University of Arizona on Oct. 10, 2011. He had served as defensive coordinator since December 2010 and was co-defensive coordinator during the 2010 season. He also served as Arizona’s assistant head coach.

• Developed three new starters in 2010 with JUCO transfer Paul Vassallo earning honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors, becoming the first Wildcat since Lance Briggs to post more than 100 tackles.

• Mentored Xavier Kelley into a All-Pac-10 Second-Team pick in 2009, while Vuna Tuihalamaka was an honorable mention selection as the Wildcats ranked second in the Pac-10 in total defense.

• Under his guidance, Ronnie Palmer was a four-year, 41-game starter and 2008 honorable mention All-Pac-10 pick as a senior after earning Freshman All-America accolades in 2005.

• In the 2008 Las Vegas Bowl, Arizona linebackers combined for 30 tackles from three positions. The Wildcats’ starting linebackers recorded 20+ tackles in 12 games in 2007-08.

• Spencer Larsen led the Pac-10 with 131 tackles to earn 2007 first-team all-league honors. The versatile Larsen has gone on to play both linebacker and fullback in the NFL with Denver, New England and Tampa Bay.

• Helped Northwestern win two Big Ten titles and earn consecutive appearances in the Rose and Citrus Bowls. During his tenure with the Wildcats, coached current Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald, who was a two-time All-Big Ten linebacker.

• Part of an Illinois staff that took a team with an 0-11 record in 1997 and improved the squad’s mark to 8-4 by 1999. His Illini unit recovered 13 fumbles, had 30.0 sacks and 14 INTs, knocking off No. 9 Michigan in Ann Arbor and posting another big road victory at No. 22 Ohio State. The Illini beat Virginia in the Bowl and finished the season No. 24.

• During his time at Army, he helped the Cadets make three bowl appearances, including a 31-29 victory over Illinois in the 1985 Peach Bowl. That season Army posted a 9-3 record and held eight of 12 opponents to 17 points or less. Kish also guided an Army defense that held opponents to 17 or fewer points 42 times during his tenure there.

• Four-year letterwinner as defensive back at Otterbein College, who also played collegiate basketball.
