Did not see any regular season action while recovering from back surgery at the end of the 2008 season ... returned to the defensive tackle rotation in the Sun Bowl vs. Stanford and assisted on three tackles.

Played in 11 games, missing two after a foot injury suffered against Washington, and the national title game after undergoing back surgery ... part of a five-man defensive tackle rotation ... was third in the group with 20 tackles ... recovered fumbles against Washington and Kansas State.
