All-American: Anthony Phillips

Rufus Alexander

Anthony Phillips, OG - 1986, 1987
Anthony Phillips earned national honors twice during his career, including consensus All-America honors in 1988.

One of only three Sooners to be named all-conference in all four years, he was an extremely versatile player who moved from offensive tackle to guard. His quickness and intelligence made him one of the top offensive linemen in the country.

Phillips also excelled in the classroom. He was named Academic All-Big Eight four times and was named GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America in 1987.

Phillips was an NCAA Top Six Award winner and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 12th round in 1989.
