Baltimore, Md. - After losing their first match of the prestigious T. Rowe Price Clay Courts National Tennis Championships Thursday, the University of Oklahoma's Charlie Roberson and Rick Warren went on to win the consolation bracket in Baltimore, Md. The duo opened Saturday at the Suburban Club winning its semifinal match, 6-2, 6-4, over Mississippi's James Shortall and Kristopher Stahlberg. Roberson and Warren then advanced to the title match where they swept BYU's Gert Vilms and Damien Ward, 6-4, 6-2.
Roberson and Warren now boast a doubles record of 4-1. This was the first of five Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) tournaments in which the Oklahoma men's tennis team will be a participant.
