Junior Witt Durden, ranked three in the country, is one of two Sooners competing in the NWCA All Star Classic on Monday.

NORMAN, Okla. - Senior Matt Ridings and junior Witt Durden, two of nation's best wrestlers in the country at their respective weight classes, will compete in the National Wrestling Coaches All Star Classic on Monday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. The event will take place on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. The Classic, now in its 36th year, will consist of 24 of the top collegiate wrestlers in the United States.

Witt Durden, ranked No. 3 by Amateur Wrestling News and Intermat, will take on second-ranked Johnny Thompson of Oklahoma State at 133 pounds. Durden, who is 23-1 on the year and has won 10 straight matches, suffered his only loss of the season to Thompson, 5-3, back on Dec. 9 in Stillwater, Okla.

No. 3/5 Matt Ridings is 21-2 on the season and will wrestle No. 5/4 Ben Vombaur of Boise State at 125.
