Personal: Born Jan. 8, 1985 ... one of four children to Norm and Kim Monsen ... Two brothers, Erick, Paul and sister Mereta ... Father, Norm, ran track for two years at University of Wisconsin-Madison ... Mother, Kim, played volleyball, basketball and badminton at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and Carroll College ... Raised chasing cattle, baling hay and raising tobacco as a summer job on her parent's farm ... Health and exercise science major ... 2007 recipient of OU's Athletics Council Service Award ... 2007 Academic All-Big 12 First Team member.
2006-2007: (Indoor) Competed in all but one event of the pentathlon at the J.D. Martin Invitational (Feb. 2). (Outdoor) Posted a long jump best of 18-8.00 (5.69) at the Tulsa Duels (March 24) ... All other personal bests came during heptathlon at Sooner Invitational (April 28-29) ... Placed seventh in the heptathlon at the Big 12 Championship (May 11-12), scoring a personal best 4,768 points ... Recorded personal bests in six of seven events, including final three.
2003-2006: A four-year letterwinner on OU's volleyball team ... Became only the second player ever in OU rally scoring history to reach the 1,000 dig mark ... Was named the 2006 Co-Big 12 Libero of the Year.
High School: Attended Stoughton High School ... Lettered four years in volleyball, three years in basketball and four years in track and field ... Earned all-conference honors in all three high school sports ... Only sprinter in Wisconsin history to be four-time (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002) state 100 meter champion ... Four-time 100 meter Badger South Conference Champion ... Two-time 200 meter state champion ... State runner-up in long jump in 2002 ... First team all-conference in basketball during 2002-03 season ... Finished prep volleyball career as Stoughton's all-time assists leader and with the highest kills per game average in the last 16 years ... Team captain and third team All-State as a junior ...
