NORMAN, Okla. — A small group of athletes from the Oklahoma Track and Field program will close out the regular season Friday at the Arkansas Twilight in Fayetteville, Ark. The meet is the final meet before Oklahoma hosts the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the John Jacobs Track and Field Complex in Norman, May 13-15. Just 14 athletes will be in action at the meet representing the pole vault, men’s distance and women’s sprints and jumps groups.
The No. 6 Oklahoma women’s team will have four athletes accounting for five ranked entries in the competition. Jasmine Simmons, who is ranked No. 13 in both the long jump and triple jump, will take to John McDonnell Field in both events Friday night.
Alexandra Acker will take her No. 18 national pole vault ranking into the meet and will face a field that includes her teammate Sarah Pappas, who is ranked No. 39 in the event.
Latoya Greaves rounds out the group of ranked athletes competing as the nation’s No. 47 athlete in the 100-meter hurdles.
