NORMAN, OKla. - All nine eligible members of the Oklahoma women's golf team were honored by the Big 12 Conference for their accomplishments in the classroom and on the links. Each member of the Sooner squad, with the exception of freshmen who are not eligible, is a first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection. In order to be named to the team, student-athletes must have maintained a 3.2 GPA. Members of the first-team are Betsy Berry, Hope Edge, Marsha Gonzaga, Jennifer James, Allison Johnson, Wendy Martin, Lisa Meldrum, Jennifer Tannehill and Jaime White.

The only six Big 12 student-athletes to earn perfect 4.0 GPAs were all Sooners. They include senior Betsy Berry, sophomore Hope Edge, senior Marsha Gonzaga, senior Jennifer James, junior Allison Johnson and senior Jaime White.

"I think that this says so much about our student-athletes," said Head Coach Carol Ludvigson. "This says so much for our team and what they try to accomplish in everything that they do. I really believe that excellence flows to everything that they do and it becomes contagious."
